Things I like and dislike!

Hey friends,

I did this in my older blogs (livejournals- haha I was so emo), and I'd like to carry on the tradition here.  So today, you get an installment of things I currently like and dislike!

Like:

1.  The Last Waltz.  Obviously.  I've watched this movie like five times in a week and a half.  With it has come a major obsession with The Band and a huge crush on Rick Danko.  Wonderful.

2.  Neko Case.  Her new album (Middle Cyclone) is excellent.  All of her albums are excellent.  If you haven't heard them yet, tell me, and I will share them with you.  She is too talented for words.  Given what I can judge from interviews and her music, I also think she and I would make great friends too.  I just want to hang out and drink beer with her.

3.  Waking up early.  Sleeping in is for chumps.

4.  Spring.  I know you're almost here; I can feel it.  These periodic cold snaps are just to test our faith, I know it.  Tomorrow it's supposed to be thirteen degrees and sunny.  Winter has been hard this year.

5.  The phrase "unconditional offer".  Did I mention I got into University of East Anglia's Film Archiving MA?  This phrase is probably my favourite thing ever right now.

6.  Getting drunk at 5pm, and singing "Evangeline" while walking across the Laurier Campus en route to HMV.  This should happen every Tuesday!

7.  Finishing the knitting projects.  Even if they were supposed to be Christmas presents...

Dislike:

1.  When your orthodontist thinks that he won't be able to finish your dental work by the time you leave the country, and suggests further surgery.  Are you fucking kidding me?  It's been more than four years!  There honestly is not that much left to do!  Also, I don't care if my jaw is slightly misaligned!  He even said it won't cause any damage, and aesthetically you can't really tell.  Ridiculous.

2.  The reality of having to pay large tuition fees and acquire a Student Visa and Passport.  The extra fun part in being accepted into school overseas!

3.  People who say "wow, grad school in England... that's expensive isn't it?"  Can't you please just say "congratulations!  I'm so happy for you!"?  I know how much it costs.  Stop reminding me.

4.  When your cat begs for catnip.  It's funny, but also kind of sad 'cause now he's an addict.

5.  Low talkers.  Seriously, I hate this.  Speak clearly.
